No matter how hard I tried I could never get my oldest daughter to become attached to anything. I wanted so badly for her to drag a blanket or doll around with her. I always thought it was so cute when I saw kids with tattered objects they would never let go of. I even tried forcing this upon her by grabbing something every time we left the house, she could have cared less. It wasn't until I had my second daughter that I finally gave up; mostly because it was just too much to carry around. My youngest is now two and I'm here to tell you to be careful what you wish for! It doesn't matter where we go, we can't leave without both her blankies, her teddy bear and the phone book! No joke! At first it was cute, but then we went to the park and guess who got to carry her things around while she played? I tried of course to leave them in the car but she wouldn't have it and seeing as how we were trying to have a nice day I didn't want to ruin it with a temper tantrum.
Just remember, no matter what life throws your way, always kiss them goodnight.
